James Alverson was a brother of John Spencer Alverson. They were from Bedford Co Va. James later moved to Madison Co Ky, and John moved to Lincoln Co Ky.

James Alverson married 12 Feb 1781 Bedford Co. Va to Mary Alligre, daughter of Mathew Alligre. Jesse Moorman, Surety. See Quaker Records, V. 6, p. 870.
