My mother is Mary Jane Kerr. She was born August 20, 1925 in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA and died March 19, 2004 in Temple, Bell Co., TX. She is buried in Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., TX. She married Dorris Dile Moorehead, son of James Madison Moorehead and Ola Arvada White in 1944 in Columbus, GA. They had 7 children. James Dile Moorehead died as an infant. She taught English in the local school system.

Her mother is Lilla Lucille Alverson born July 26, 1891 in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA and died June 18, 1964 in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., TX. She is buried in Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., TX. She married John Sanes October 4, 1907 and had two sons, Harry Fleming Sanes born August 19, 1908 in Columbus, GA and Joseph Mose L Saynes born April 3, 1912 in Columbus. They divorced and she married Robert Wilson Kerr III June 19, 1919 in Columbus. She was a housekeeper and reupholstered furniture. He was a postal carrier, a mailman, for the Columbus Post Office. He was also a veteran of World War I and served in the cavalry. They had two daughters, Mary Jane and Annie Beatrice Kerr born July 28, 1920 in Columbus. Lilla and Robert are buried in Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo, TX.

Moses Littleton Alverson was born December 17, 1867 in Georgia and died January 3, 1937 in Columbus, GA. He married Beatrice Melton July 21, 1889 in Columbus, GA. She was born February 25, 1872 in Alabama to John Oliver Melton and Sarah Jane Lowe. He was an engineer and worked for the city of Columbus. They had one child. They are buried in the Clowers Cemetery in Cataula, GA, north of Columbus.

Elias Alverson was born in July, 1839 in Georgia and married Mildred Ann Smith born in Harris Co., GA on May 11, 1864 in Harris Co., GA. He served in the Confederate Army of GA, enlisting November 8, 1862, as a private. They had 5 children: Riley, Peyton, Bettie, Howard and Moses Littleton.

Moses Alverson was born between 1785-1786 in Caswell, NC and died after 1860 in Harris Co., GA. He married May or Mary who was born about 1787 in SC and died after 1860 in Harris Co., GA. They had 5 children: Nancy, Milly, Mary, William and Elias. Nancy was born in SC, Milly in AL, and Mary, William and Elias in GA.

James Alverson was born about 1760 in Fairfax Co., VA and married Sabitha between 1780 and 1781 in Fairfax Co., VA. She was born about 1759 and died September 17, 1842 in SC. He died between May 22-27, 1834 in Chester District, SC. He served in 3rd and 4th Regiments of the Virginia Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. They had 6 children: William, Moses, John, Nancy, Elinder, and Mary.

Archibald Alverson, born October 17, 1724 in Richmond Co., VA, was married to unknown between 1780-1781 in Fairfax Co., VA and died after 1810. He had 3 sons: John, James, and Elijah.

Archibald is listed as a son of John Alverson born about 1680 in Northumberland, Richmond Co., VA and married to Eleanor who was born about 1684 in Richmond Co., VA. He died about 1743 in St. Stephens Parish, Richmond Co., VA. She died January 15 1749/50 in Richmond Co., VA. They had 7 children: Archibald, Ann, Telief, Eleanor, Betty, John and Martha.

Telief/Teliff A. Alverson was born about 1654 in North Farnham, Richmond Co., VA and died December 26, 1718 in North Franham. He married Rebecca Hatton who was born about 1658 in Northumberland, Richmond Co., VA and died September 19, 1732 in Northumberland. They had 2 children: John and Sarah.

Telieffe O. Alverson was the probable father of Telief A. and was born before 1650 and died after December, 1705.


Kerr

Robert Wilson Kerr Jr., born May 26, 1871 in Philadelphia, Pa., married Mary Jane Brown on August 18, 1893 in Renfro, AL. She was born June 6, 1874 in Heard Co., GA to James J. Brown and Mary Francis O'Neal. They had 4 children: Lillie May (died shortly after birth), Bessie Louise, William Clarence (died as an infant), and Robert Wilson III. She died July 30, 1899 in Columbus, GA of typhoid fever. He married Annie Osborne, born May 7, 1879 in Bowden, GA to Thomas Osborne and Mary Holridge, July 1, 1900. They had 6 children, all dying as infants.

Robert Wilson Kerr Sr was born January 4, 1851 in Philadelphia, PA to William Bennett Kerr and Rebecca Wilson. He was born after his father's death in July, 1850 during a move to Baltimore, MD from "drinking the water". His parents had 2 children: James who died as a young boy in 1858 "from a fall" and Robert. His mother remarried to Charles Lafeter and she died in 1854 from typhoid fever.

He was raised by his grandparents, Robert Hunter Wilson and Sophia Grandeen.

He married Rachel Barwis, born March 5, 1851 in Richmond, VA to Samuel Barwis and Elizabeth Gogen. She died January 20, 1875 in Philadelphia, PA of typhoid fever. They were the parents of 3 children: R W, Henry and Jennie. He later married Lillie May Lening, born August 4, 1861, on May 30, 1880 in Frankford, Philadelphia, PA. She died September 12, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH. He died March 9, 1922 in Columbus, GA.

Melton

John Oliver Melton was born October 10, 1846 in Seale, AL and died August 18, 1934 in Columbus, GA. He married Mandy Edwards and had 3 children: Beatrice, Lula Valillian and James. After her death, he married Sarah Jane Goodgame. Sarah was born November 17, 1847 and died October 5, 1896. They were married November 26, 1878 and had Lena Bertha.
