Richard Smith Alverson is shown in the Japhat Alverson line, and is also mentioned in the S.C. manuscript.
Richard served in the war of 1812. He moved from Seneca to Perry Co NY in 1816. He was born 15 Feb 1791 at Utica, NY, died 10 June 1870 Perry Co NY, and he was the son of Stephen and Amy [Smith] Alverson.
On 13 Sept 1811 Richard married Laura Adelia Lewis, born 1792, died 13 Sept 1874 Perry Co NY, the daughter of John P. and Rebecca [Wheden] Lewis. [See the Wheden genealogy back to 1630]. John P. Lewis was a Rev War Soldier. Children of Richard Smith Alverson and his wife Laura Adelia Lewis:
